Two Trees

6 x 8 inches, oil on board.
$100
I'm in denial of our actual weather. I keep painting these beautiful sunny scenes. I can't complain; the weather here hasn't been a hardship, just the usual rainy cold greyness. There are definite signs of spring, though. The trees are flowering and daffodils and other bulbs are open.Anyway, I love trees. I like being around them and under them. I wish trees could vote.

Path

5 x 7 inches, oil on board.
$80
I was waiting for this painting to dry so that I could scan and post it. I've been trying out new painting mediums; this one keeps the paint wet longer.
I am drawn to paths. I like the arabesque this one makes into the distance. Yes, we're still in Old Bethpage Village on Long Island. I will, eventually, paint Oregon landscapes (I'm working on one now). But I don't think I'm done with this place yet. Maybe I know that when I start painting the northwest I will probably stop painting Long Island. I'd like to feel I have "finished" it. But I also know (do I ever) that nothing ever really gets finished.
