Hangin'

A photo of a house a few blocks down the street. Christmas.

Yes I know I haven't posted for awhile, in spite of my declaration to not let things get in my way. I am painting, but have been putting the majority of my painting time into a 9 x 12 panel, an autumn landscape. I'm working from the computer monitor, using a photo I took on the way down to North Carolina a month or so ago. It is "almost done", and when it is really done I will post it.

I have not abandoned my "daily painting" regimen but have been unable to keep it going lately. I have done several that didn't come out and I scraped them off.

I AM going to update my website (not this blog) this spring! Too much to learn.

Poinsettia Leaf

7 x 5 inches, oil on masonite.
$80
Sold

Things have been conspiring against me of late to impinge on my painting time. This displeases me! I intend to push back, to allow for much painting this winter.

Here's a study of a backlit poinsettia leaf in the process of turning from green to red. I love the rich colors you can get by illuminating the leaf from behind. I would like to do more of this kind of thing.
