Caumsett State Historic Park

5 x 7 inches, oil on board.
Sold
Kay and I enjoyed a really nice picnic on this beautiful spot. This is the view from the English-style main house once built by Marshall Field III. It sits on the north shore of Long Island, the "Gold Coast". The painting started out as a "3-hour study", but I needed more time...so put more hours into it at home. The body of water nearer to you is a small fresh water pond; the water behind it is Long Island Sound, and the distant land is Connecticut.

nice to see this. I studied in stony brook for 4 years and lived on the water so this brings back memories.
