Tom's Picture #1

15 x 11 inches, chalk pastel on paper.
Not for sale.
This is one of a pair of commissioned pastel paintings which I did for a friend on Long Island this spring. Both were done using Tom's photos which he took on a white water rafting/camping trip he and his wife Pat took in the Grand Canyon a few years ago. I loved drawing these rocks and water. Except that it made me want to be there. But I wasn't.

But, I am in Oregon, and it is beautiful here. Mostly, though, I've been sneezing, and dealing with vehicle registration. I hope to stop sneezing and start painting again soon.

I just saw the original today at Pat and Tom's house. This looks almost as good as the real thing. Tom is a terrific photographer. This place reminds me of Sitting Bull Falls in New Mexico. Boy, I miss the southwest.

Keep the pictures coming. I love them.

Wow. The water, especially, is unbelievable. So good.
