Watching the Paint Dry

I have been working on new small paintings...I have 3 ready to go...but they're still wet, and I don't want to use the camera until I learn how to get a decent likeness. So you'll have to wait another day or so. Please stand by...there is nothing wrong with your set.

To tide you over, here's some modern art. Anybody know what it is?

To me this looks like one of three options: 1) a cheap Hollywood way of showing magma in a volcano, with the grey zones representing the cooling surface of the molten rock, 2) a poorly made pizza topping, and 3) leftovers in a frying pan which fried meat in a tomato sauce. Anyways it surely doesn't look appetizing. Perhaps you can give us a clue?

It's Art. I don't expect to understand it (or maybe it's mold growing on strawberry jam).
I still don't get it.

Mmmmm. Jam...
