Happy Birthday Dad

Here's a study in pen of a couple of what I think are white pines, as seen from the living room of my parents' apartment in North Carolina. Today is my dad's 89th birthday. He likes trees. He used to turn wood on a lathe, and design and build furniture. He would like this picture. I showed him how to navigate to this blog, so perhaps he'll find it himself. Hi dad!

Happy Birthday Mr. Anderson! Mark's homepage is a delight to visit, and it gives me the opportunity to enjoy Mark's artwork from far away. Say hello to Mrs. Anderson.

What a lovely gift to Dad! I hope he found it, but if he didn't, I'll help him get there the next time I visit North Carolina.

I doubt you'll ever see this comment. Today is 2/5/07. I hope Dad saw your drawing and comment. I tried to take a picture of these very same trees last week, and got a fine photo of window screen! This is very fine work. I love your pencil drawings - you convey so much with such economy of line!
