I long for wilderness. Or to be driving down highway 50 as it cuts through the basin and range landscape of Nevada. Better yet let me be in some amazing place in Utah or Arizona with red rocks, blue sky and white clouds. But, I am here, so I will happily draw pavement, curb cuts and strips of grass.

I've seen places like this in every town I have ever visited. Another example of Anywhere, USA. Plow the grass and plant vegetables. At least that would serve a higher purpose, and give the eyes a feast of color - red tomatos ripening in the sun, yellow crook-neck squash, red and green peppers, etc. Perhaps a few orange pumpkins for the coming pagan harvest festivals and Halloween. These endless rows of green lawns are useless and serve no purpose.

I think the grass seed industry, the fertilizer/pesticide industry, the mower/edger/trimmer industry, etc. etc. etc. might disagree with you.
